Traffic Shifts on Thursday Along Salem Creek Connector Project

WINSTON-SALEM – N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will shift lanes along U.S. 52 northbound between mile markers 108 and 109 from the outside lanes to the inside lanes while crews complete noise wall and pavement installations, curb, gutter and guardrail construction in Winston-Salem.

“This work is being done as apart of construction along the Salem Creek Connector Improvement Project in Forsyth County, and will be done overnight to minimize the impact to traffic,” said Division 9 Assistant Resident Engineer Zach McLaughlin.

The shift is taking place between Waughtown Street and Salem Creek Parkway (exit 108) from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5.

Crews will be working alongside traffic during this time and drivers should use extra caution in the work zone. Motorists should watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit when traveling through work zones.
